Heal, Empower, Rebuild (H.E.R.) – Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program for Women with Dependent Children

This is a program open only by DYFS referral. The goal of this IOP program is to enable women with dependent children of Warren County who are experiencing issues related to substance abuse (including residents who may be experiencing co-occurring issues of substance abuse and mental health) to attain and maintain a substance-free life. Upon admission to the program, all clients receive a comprehensive clinical and psycho-social assessment, a screening for the need for a physical exam, and a spiritual assessment. This includes a complete substance abuse assessment including current and past substance use, patterns of use, relapse history and precipitants, and an assessment of the client’s stage of readiness for change.

The IOP will provide group services four days per week to ensure that clients can attend a minimum of nine hours (three days, three hours per day). The groups utilized will include a wide variety of topics to ensure that all clients are exposed to the appropriate treatment issues throughout their length of stay. These topics include parenting, child care, budgeting, life skills, substance abuse, sobriety, relapse prevention, mental health issues, domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, smoking cessation, anger management, conflict resolution, crisis intervention resources, and nutrition. Each client will receive a minimum of one hour per week of individual therapy throughout their stay in the H.E.R.
